Media Buyer is responsible for maximizing the impact of advertising campaigns. Coordinates the development and execution of media and advertising plans that support the client's overall marketing strategy, tactics, message, and objectives. Being a Media Buyer uses analytics to design innovative strategies to ensure the client's marketing campaigns reach the target audience. Negotiates media buys, pricing, and media placement scheduling with vendors. Additionally, Media Buyer collaborates with stakeholders and vendors to execute plans and control pacing, optimization, and timelines for campaigns. Conducts research on new media strategies, platforms, and channels to utilize for future campaigns or ongoing campaign evolvement. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. The Media Buyer work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. About this position: LMCU is looking for a Media Planner/Buyer who will be responsible for leading LMCU’s media planning efforts to help support the credit union’s various business units. Overall, this role involves researching, planning, and recommending various media mix options, leading to the purchase of media that will help deliver the LMCU brand message to our specific target audiences in an economical and effective manner. This role will be responsible for building relationships with various media representatives keeping updated media kits, analyzing a variety of options (based on CPM, AQH, delivery efficiency, reach, and frequency, etc.), preparing media plans, negotiating short and long term media contracts, tracking and reporting on results. This role will also work closely with the Marketing Account Supervisors to help identify marketing goals for specific campaigns. What you’ll do: Develop strong relationships with media representatives and a thorough understanding of their products (digital and traditional) to help in the evaluation of the most appropriate media options (audience delivered at an economical price). Maintain updated information on all print, broadcast (including OTT, radio/TV/cable), direct mail, outdoor, print, digital (SEM/SEO), social media (ex. Facebook/You Tube), email, and specialty advertising (ex. Pandora and Van Andel arena signage) sources. Negotiate short and long term contracts. Reserve space/time and communicate schedules to LMCU marketing team with the sizes/specifications, dates, material due dates. Prepare written media plans with goals and objectives and costs for key marketing campaigns. Evaluate post-campaign results to gain a better idea of the level of success and making suggestions for improvements. Review media invoices to ensure accuracy and space/time delivered match with what was contracted. Assist to help understand the key segmented group of prospects to target (ex. members with a mortgage but no HELOC) and work with the marketing team and the individual business groups to help them achieve their growth goals. Business groups include mortgage, retail, consumer lending, commercial insurance, Max Wealth (investments), and Premier Banking. Produce reports that will help track the results of campaigns, and working with our partner dashboards to track our digital results (Tegna, MPP and Florida Weekly). In addition, review data and analytics of digital campaigns and direct mailings (routine) to determine effectiveness of media plans. Participate in brainstorming and idea sharing, insights and suggestions with the Marketing team to develop various marketing campaigns. Maintain and track allocated budgets for various paid advertising campaigns, and managing invoice accuracy and approving invoices in Concur. Review and first level approval of all paid media invoices, using AP Concur system, to ensure accuracy and match-up with media budgets and contracts. What You’ll Bring: You’ll like this position if you have... Three years to five years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. Strong experience in digital advertising and experience with traditional media is required. Working knowledge of SEM and SEO, plus familiarity with internet strategy, social media campaigns, and digital marketing tactics is required. Knowledge in the areas of digital advertising (examples include but not limited to PPC, display, re-targeting, geo-fencing, key word search, SEM and SEO) will be required.
