    POSITION SUMMARY: Moravian University seeks a creative, highly driven, and results-oriented Social and Digital Media Manager who can set a leading example among top colleges on social media impact. This team member will build an innovative, dynamic, and strategically oriented approach to social media that engages our diverse constituencies and maximizes the benefits of these media platforms to expand Moravian's reach and reputation.


    The Social and Digital Media Manager is responsible for advancing the social media strategy for Moravian University and managing content on its flagship social media channels. In addition to playing a key role on the Marketing and Communications team, this position will foster collaborative relationships with colleagues and departments across campus, as well as manage and mentor a talented team of student content creators. The Social and Digital Media Manager will act as a consultative resource for those managing social media platforms for undergraduate and graduate admissions, the School of Professional Studies & Innovation, Moravian Theological Seminary and Lancaster Theological Seminary. The Social and Digital Media Manager will also generate search optimized content for the website by gathering news and information, producing special stories, and collecting/taking photos and video.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintain and enhance the University's social media presence on Facebook, TikTok, X (Formerly Twitter), Snapchat, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.
    • Independently manage content creation, updates, photo selection, proofreading and overall brand consistency across social media platforms. Collaborate with the marketing team and other departments to develop engaging content.
    • Increase Moravian University's visibility and enhance its reputation through the use of social media.
    • Engage users on a daily basis and build communities on social media. Increase Moravian's engagement with students, staff and faculty members, alumni, parents and community members through social media.
    • Manage in-house video production for social media and oversee any video production and editing performed by student workers.
    • Manage the Moravian University online brand reputation by monitoring social conversations and engaging audiences across social media platforms, online forums, blogs, etc.
    • Maintain and update social media guidelines implemented for the University and share with campus groups managing, or planning to manage, any ongoing social media presence for their organization outside of the Marketing and Communications office
    • Establish and monitor effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of social media campaigns.
    • Analyze, review, and report on the effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
    • Maintain a content calendar for all social channels.
    • Serve as the point of contact for marketing vendors engaged in social media strategy and production work.
    • Recruit, train, and supervise work-study students working on social media-related projects.
    • Provide guidance to faculty and staff on social media techniques and opportunities, when necessary.
    • Photograph and /or video events for social media channels on campus as necessary.

    QUALIFICATIONS: A baccalaureate degree in an appropriate field; two or more years of experience in electronic marketing and media development; proven writing and social media experience, including appropriate programming and computer skills; the capacity to work with colleagues as a member of a team; requires the ability to work evenings and occasional weekends. Must be creative and energetic.
