Operations Manager - Foods

• Well established foods manufacturing facility has a need for an Operations Manager (2nd in command) due to a promotion
• Company has been in business for 75 years with sales around $20 billion.

• The Operations Manager is responsible for managing, planning, directing, and coordinating the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing, maintenance, quality, sanitation, processing, and packaging.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, direct, and run optimize day-to-day operations to exceed yields, delivery, and efficiencies  
• Increase production efficiency, asset capacity and flexibility while minimizing costs and maintaining high quality standards
• Responsible for production output, product quality and on-time delivery
• Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
• Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
• Monitor operations and initiate corrective actions
• Collect and analyze data to improve operations and eliminate waste
• Develop and support a strong Safety culture
• Maintain and support systems and processes that track and optimize performance metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
• Address employees’ issues by coaching, training, and guiding the supervisors
• Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts
• Drive a continuous improvement culture

Requirements:

• BA/BS degree required; preferred in Engineering, Industrial Technology or Business
•  7-15 years' experience in Operations Management in a manufacturing setting.
•  Food manufacturing industry experience is preferred (not required).
• Experience being a change agent with experience in implementation of Lean principals as they apply to manufacturing operations.
• Ability to apply structured problem-solving methodologies to determine root cause of problems and provide effective countermeasures.
• Excellent communication skills
