NIST’s roles under the CHIPS Act are as financial steward of the CHIPS Incentives Program and as scientific leader for the CHIPS R&D Program. In executing these programs, the CHIPS program is required to meet aggressive deadlines to issue funding announcements, set application deadlines, and issue decisions on awards, with varying timelines associated with various programs.
