Manager of Product and Technology Development Principle Responsibilities:
Lead Technology Development and Sustainability Efforts:
a) develop strategies to incorporate evolving technologies to improve products for customers and promote continued market growth
b) be a lead technical voice in design reviews and design decisions
c) be the technical owner and set the technical direction for assigned product categories
d) lead continuous improvement activities such as warranty analysis, cost reduction, and alternate components
e) own and execute on project schedules, budgets, and performance deliverables
f) accountable for delivering against established business goals/objectives, making sure to promptly communicate critical resource gaps
g) analyze, evaluate, and overcome program risks, and produce program reports for management and stakeholders for decision making
Manage team assigned:
a) set priorities, allocate resources, and remove obstacles to build a team to reach its full potential
b) with the execution of design and support projects including new products, cost reductions, quality improvements & product enhancements
c) Grow, mentor, and inspire team by owning all elements of the employee life cycle: recruiting, on-boarding, training, performance management, career development and advancement
d) support and guide team in risk assessments, suggest and execute feasibility investigations, and provide guidance on bringing new technology to market
Collaboration and Cross-functional leadership:
a) be a leader on a cross-functional product team with Engineering, Product Management, Marketing and Manufacturing Engineering - collaborate closely to set product strategy and a three to five year road-map
b) collaborate with other functional groups as a technical resource for product line
c) work with team to identify risks and opportunities across multiple projects within the department, developing plans to address conflicts or overloads
Maintains industry knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes; reviewing related publications; establishing networks.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, including special projects and tasks as delegated supervisor.
