Media Production Director oversees and plans the pre-production, production, and post-production stages of television or web shows, broadcasts, or videos. Completes pre-production processes, including ideation, concept creation, casting, script writing, budgeting, specifications, and scheduling. Being a Media Production Director defines and organizes the technical and logistical resources required for each production. Assembles the required team of production specialists for each production's camera, sound, lighting, and other functions. Additionally, Media Production Director directs post-production editing operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Media Production Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Talladega College is seeking an Instructor of Media Production for its Mass Media Studies program with teaching specialization in mass communication with an emphasis in digital skills, including video, broadcast and multiplatform production. Applications are welcome from those with industry experience and/or those with experience teaching a wide array of topics within the multimedia communication fields, specifically broadcast and video production, and basic visual presentation and reporting. This is a non-tenure-track, nine-month position that reports to the Mass Media Studies Department Chair and is slated to begin August 2024.
