Media Production Director jobs in Monroe, LA

Media Production Director oversees and plans the pre-production, production, and post-production stages of television or web shows, broadcasts, or videos. Completes pre-production processes, including ideation, concept creation, casting, script writing, budgeting, specifications, and scheduling. Being a Media Production Director defines and organizes the technical and logistical resources required for each production. Assembles the required team of production specialists for each production's camera, sound, lighting, and other functions. Additionally, Media Production Director directs post-production editing operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Media Production Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Media Production Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Job Summary/Description:

    Technical Media Producers work in KNOE's state-of-the-art media control center. They are responsible for directing live and pre-recorded productions and processing content for our television stations and KNOE.com. An ideal candidate would be willing to learn and tech-savvy.

    Duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to):

    - Work alongside news producers and other newsroom staff to create, code, and direct dynamic, fast-paced, top-rated newscasts and programming
    - Coordinate live acquisition of reporters and news video utilizing TVU, Live Link, and satellite feeds
    - Design compelling and engaging graphics and visual elements to help our journalists communicate their stories
    - Monitor on-air signals for KNOE, KAQY, KCWL, and Circle, ingest daily programming and commercials, and operate the Master Control automation system
    - Be responsible for regular care and maintenance of equipment and studio, including lighting, cameras, and sets
    - Occasional operation of studio teleprompter, floor directing, and various other duties as assigned will be required

    Qualifications/Requirements:

    - The successful candidate will be creative, extremely detail-oriented, and have very strong problem-solving, multi-tasking, and communication skills
    - Positive and professional attitude in a fast-paced and dynamic environment under deadline pressure
    - Able to work well with a team
    - Flexible to work mornings, nights, and weekends
    - Able to sit and stand for extended periods. Able to climb and work on ladders and comfortably lift 30 pounds or more
    - Computer literacy is a must
    - Strong grasp of visual design, grammar, and spelling
    - While previous television experience is preferred, it is not required
    - Experience with HD video production, Ross Overdrive, Vision switchers, Ross Xpression Graphics, NVerzion Master Control Automation, ENPS, and non-linear editing systems is a definite plus
