Media Production Director jobs in Newark, NJ

Media Production Director oversees and plans the pre-production, production, and post-production stages of television or web shows, broadcasts, or videos. Completes pre-production processes, including ideation, concept creation, casting, script writing, budgeting, specifications, and scheduling. Being a Media Production Director defines and organizes the technical and logistical resources required for each production. Assembles the required team of production specialists for each production's camera, sound, lighting, and other functions. Additionally, Media Production Director directs post-production editing operations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Media Production Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Media Production Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     WHO YOU ARE: 

    We are searching for an enthusiastic Media Production Teacher to promote media production literacy among our students. To ensure success as a Media Production Teacher, you should demonstrate flexibility and support as you help students develop confidence in their media production skills. An outstanding Media Production Teacher will be cognizant of the media factors that limit access to production and will make a concerted effort to acclimatize students with no prior exposure to media production.


    Do you have what it takes?

    • Education and Experience: 
      • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
      • A New Jersey Department of Education Standard Certificate, Certificate of Eligibility (CE), or Certificate of Eligibility with Advanced Standing (CEAS).


    THE ROLE:

    • Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
    • Evaluate student progress regularly and prepare progress reports.
    • Instructs pupils in citizenship, basic communications skills, and other general elements of the course of study common to all teachers, as specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the district.
    • Provides individual, small, and/or large group instruction, whenever appropriate, in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of pupils with varying intellectual and special abilities.
    • Instruct pupils in proper care and use of textbooks, equipment, and materials.
    • Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly and productive environment.
    • Selects and requisitions books, instructional materials, equipment, and aids, and maintains required inventory records.
    • Develops instructional plans and organizes class time to provide a balanced program of instruction
    • Develops and maintains professional competence through participation in in-service education activities provided by the district and in self-selected professional growth activities.
    • Supervises out-of-classroom activities for pupils during the assigned working day, as required.
    • Plans and coordinates the work of aides, teacher assistants, and other paraprofessionals.
    • Identifies pupil’s needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
    • Communicates with parents and pupil personnel staff members on the individual pupil’s progress and development.
    • Maintains attendance accounting and business service as required.
    • Develops and participates in the sponsorship of student activities and faculty committees.
    • Acts as a resource person on an interdepartmental level to relate appropriate aspects of his/her subject area to other subject areas
    • Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning the academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students.
    • Performs other duties as assigned


    • Salary range: BA $61,912 - $86,912 / MA 62,412 - 87,412
    • Term of Employment: 10.5 Months
    • Union: MPTEA
