Specific Responsibilities:

• Plans and develops strategies to operate production in a safe manner that permits timely responses to manufacturing and customer needs
• Manages safety initiatives and 6S activities including hazardous material, sustainability, and recycle waste; ensures all standards meet Company quality and production goals
• Manages and develops the department’s capital investment initiatives and oversees the optimum performance of this function
• Communicates intra and inter departmentally the daily, weekly, and monthly performance of KPI’s to provide visibility of improvements and opportunities in production
• Oversees hiring, training, safety, discipline, housekeeping, equipment purchases, and maintenance of warehouse equipment
• Schedules repairs and preventative maintenance based on employee safety, customer demand, and line efficiencies; orders equipment and maintains necessary spare parts
• Proposes, coordinates, and implements new technologies and methodologies in the industry, and presents this research for evaluation by plant management
• Ensures quality and product safety by directly working with the Product Engineering, Graphic Arts, Ink Development, Quality, Supervisors, Support Staff, Operators, Customer Service, and Sales; investigates and reports flaws in the system relative to correction action communicated to the customer
• Ensures the department is compliant with all state and federal OSHA and EPA requirements, and conducts mandated training programs
• Directs the activities in the department to ensure that the department’s performance contributes to meeting the plant objectives
• Provides direction to the supervisors and production team members in the day-to-day flow of activities within the department
• Demonstrates proficient computer skills – Microsoft Office, PMA Dynamics, and AX software – and the ability to learn other company-implemented systems
• Supports any efforts to maintain high-quality standards as defined by ISO and other plant-wide initiatives to help the parent-company, local company, and the department
