JOB SUMMARY
The Trauma Services Program Leader is responsible for the overall planning, direction, administration, coordination, and supervision of the trauma service.
RESPONSIBILITIES & JOB FUNCTIONS
Develops and maintains effective and efficient service delivery systems for assigned departments.
Develops short and long term goals for assigned department(s) in keeping with the mission and goals of the organization, demonstrates timely update of goals.
Actively participates in strategic planning process for assigned department(s), considering existing service and unmet community and organizational needs.
Develops and implements necessary policies and standards within assigned departments, in accordance with regulatory, legal, administrative and corporate requirements.
Accountable for ensuring that trauma patients receive care that is in compliance with community, organization, and accreditation standards as well as all Federal regulations and conditions of participation.
Prepares updates/reports for Administration and Board of Directors as needed.
Plans and conducts regular department meetings to keep staff informed of current department and system information and policies and to discuss pertinent issues.
Establishes a climate of mutual trust and respect by dealing with others in a fair and just manner.
Takes responsibility for staff compliance with policies and procedures.
Demonstrates effective communication with employee, customers and administration.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
BSN required, MSN preferred
Minimum of 5 years nursing experience in a critical care area that cares for trauma patients (i.e. ICU, ED); Management experience
Prior Trauma Program Manager experience preferred
LICENSURE & CERTIFICATIONS
Licensure in the state of placement will be required. Candidates with Compact Licensure are preferred, with the ability to obtain licensure in other states as needed.
