Media Program Director directs and coordinates activities of broadcast and programming personnel. Responsible for scheduling programs and event coverage, coordinating with other departments, working with directors and production staff, and assessing length and content of broadcasts. Media Center Director

  • Position Overview
    The Director is responsible for running and maintaining the Salemme Media Center, radio station, television studio, and photography studio. This is a full-time, on campus position. The Director should hold normal business hours Monday through Friday, with some expectations of attending or covering events on evenings and weekends.

    Primary Responsibilities:
    • Managing the Media Center (budgeting, hiring/scheduling student workers)
    • Purchasing and maintaining inventory of media tech
    • Maintaining/cleaning/fixing media tech
    • Managing and maintaining wiring, lighting, hardware, and software in TV studio, radio station, photo studio, etc.
    • Holding media workshops in Communication & Media and other courses
    • Taking and editing headshots for the College community
    • Capturing photographic documentation of key events around campus for the College community
    • Teaching one photography-related course per semester
    • Providing one-on-one creating and editing assistance, including large project planning help and execution oversight
    • Advising photography and media-related student organizations (e.g. Photography Club, MCTV, Film Club, WMCK)

    Required Qualifications
    Master’s degree; relevant professional experience; audio/visual media production experience; a working knowledge of audio/video hardware (audio mixing boards, video cameras, lighting kits, video control room technology); working knowledge of audio, video, and photo editing software (Adobe Creative Suite); college-level teaching experience is a plus. Existing expertise in all areas is not a position requirement. However, a willingness to problem solve and learn new technologies is required.
