    JOB SUMMARY

    Are you a Cause-Driven Leader with a passion for youth development? The YMCA of NWNC is seeking a passionate and experienced individual to fill the role of YMCA Teen Mental Health Director. This position will play a key role in developing and implementing programs that support the mental health and well-being of teenagers within our communities

    The Teen Mental Health Program Director must exemplify the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith in all aspects of job performance, and in building and maintaining relationships with school personnel, participants, volunteers, and staff. Ideal candidates will have proven success in increasing Program enrollment, cross-promotion of programs, time management skills, and strengthening program quality. This position also has direct fund-raising responsibilities with the Annual Impact Fund. Soliciting donations from staff and the community to meet their individual department goals and to sustain the work of this program will be required.

    Schedule: Must be available Monday-Friday between 7:00 am and 6:00 pm. Hours will vary based on the needs of the program.(Must be able to work weekends, evenings, Holidays and/extended hours as necessary).

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Develop and oversee programs and initiatives focused on promoting mental health awareness, resilience, and positive coping skills among teenagers.
    • Collaborate with community partners, mental health professionals, and local schools to identify needs and resources for supporting teen mental health.
    • Conduct outreach and education efforts to raise awareness about mental health issues and reduce stigma among teenagers and their families.
    • Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements based on feedback and data analysis.
    • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to program activities, outcomes, and participant demographics.
    • Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in adolescent mental health to inform program development and decision-making.
    • Managing a yearly budget of all related departments to meet fiscal objectives.
    • Assist in the marketing and distribution of program information.
    •  Assist in branch fundraising activities and special events.
    • Respond to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner
     

    Qualifications


    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in the field of mental health, with a focus on adolescents.
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for promoting teen mental health and preventing mental health problems.
    • Experience working in a nonprofit or community-based organization is preferred.
    • Able to work with minimal supervision preferred.
    • Strong Computer proficiency; experience with MS Office preferred.
