Graphics Sign Shop Manager

We are seeking a Graphics Sign Shop Manager with design, printing, production and installation experience to join our growing wide-format graphics company in Middlesex County, NJ.

The candidate must be well-rounded, excellent communicator, have an extraordinary attention to detail, maintain high quality standards, and a professional appearance.

The candidate must be highly motivated and able to work in a faced paced & fluid atmosphere, independently, with minimal supervision

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each of the following duties proficiently:

The position is a full-time position for the right candidate.

The candidate must be willing to work extra hours/days should the workload demand it.

The candidate must meet the physical requirements for the job, have strong problem solving skills and be a fast learner.

Candidates must have basic math and construction skills to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fraction fluently and be able to accurately measure and find center points using a tape measure and calculate sq/ft. You will be tested on this!

Strong mechanical knowledge and knowledge of hand tools and light power tools is required.

In depth knowledge of pre-press file setup and proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

Primary Job Duties:

• Utilize shopVox software to manage shop and installation schedule for an efficient workflow.
• Complete all finishing aspects of printed wide format projects; from laminating, mounting, trimming, routing, banner hemming and grommeting, to packaging for final shipment and local deliveries.
• Operate the following finishing equipment: Colex, 60” Laminator, Grommet Machine, Evolution E2 wide format cutting system & simple hand tools.
• Vinyl cutting, weeding and trimming.
• Local travel to install signs, vinyl graphics & vehicle lettering required.
• Quality control check each job maintaining necessary high quality standards.
• General shop work and be responsible for keeping the shop clean & organized.
• Inventory management.
• Equipment maintenance/ repair.
• Must work closely and communicate well with coworkers.
• Maximize production time to complete all projects in a timely manner.
• Assist with other duties as designated by management.
• Operate wide-format printers, Onyx, Colex daily.
• Installation of wall, window and vehicle wraps.
• Work with management to implement processes that will improve workflow and workspace and eliminate waste.

Additional Requirements:

• Candidate must have reliable vehicle and be willing to use it for travel for installations and deliveries.
• 1-3 year of experience in the sign and graphics industry. Candidates with no prior experience WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and be willing to work in a drug-free work environment.

Schedule:

Day Shift / Possible Night & Weekend Hours at Times

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. The employee is required to sit, stand, kneel and crouch for extended periods of time. The employee must lift and/or move up to 65 pound rolls of material & 4' x 8' sheets of material on a daily basis. If you have a fear of heights please do not apply.

Compensation:

$20 - $28 per/hr for Experienced Applicants Only!
