Medical Assistant assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients' medical records. Being a Medical Assistant prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients. May draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Additionally, Medical Assistant may perform administrative duties such as ordering supplies, answering the phone, and scheduling appointments. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RCA) certification. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Medical Assistant works under moderate supervision. We are looking for a bilingual medical assistant for our El Paso location. We are a busy personal injury medical practice specializing in ortho and traumatic brain injury. Experience in these areas is preferred, but not required.
Specific Duties:1. Performs all duties within the scope of a Certified Medical Assistant2. Rooms patients according to company standards.3. Records patient care documentation in the medical record accurately and in a timely manner.4. Coordinates patient care as directed by physicians, company standards and policies.5. Processes appropriate documents in an organized and accurate fashion.6. Respects patient confidentiality at all times.7. Organizes exam and treatment rooms, stocks and cleans rooms and sterilizes instruments.8. Maintains certifications (MA and CPR) and quality control standards.9. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Must have qualifications/experience: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required. Current Medical Assistant certification or registration certification required. At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant is required.Reliable Transportation a Must
