Medical Assistant assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients' medical records. Being a Medical Assistant prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients. May draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Additionally, Medical Assistant may perform administrative duties such as ordering supplies, answering the phone, and scheduling appointments. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RCA) certification. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Medical Assistant works under moderate supervision. Position Overview:
We're currently seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team, with a position available for less than 20 hours per week. As a Medical Assistant with us, you'll play a vital role in both clinical and administrative duties, ensuring our patients receive the highest quality care and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients with professionalism, promptness, and courtesy.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, measurements, and conducting body fat analysis.
- Perform blood draws, administer injections, and prepare specimens for processing.
- Provide explanations of our programs to new patients and review them with existing patients.
- Address questions or concerns from returning patients with care and attention.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in exam rooms, labs, and restrooms.
- Perform data entry and utilize computer systems effectively.
- Ensure patient charts are kept confidential and up-to-date.
Qualifications:
- Medical administrative support experience
- Patient service and care experience
- Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology
- Ability to perform intake and record vital signs
- Phlebotomy experience
