Medical Assistant assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients' medical records. Being a Medical Assistant prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients. May draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Additionally, Medical Assistant may perform administrative duties such as ordering supplies, answering the phone, and scheduling appointments. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RCA) certification. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Medical Assistant works under moderate supervision. West Isle Urgent Care in Galveston, TX is looking for a Medical Assistant, Paramedic, or LVN to join our 15 person strong team. We are located on 2027 61 St Street. Our ideal candidate is attentive, motivated, and engaged. Must be reliable, punctual, and have open availability as we are open every day from 8 AM - 10 PM. Shifts will vary from 6 - 14 hours. Weekend availability is required (Rotating weekends).
