Medical Assistant assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients' medical records. Being a Medical Assistant prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients. May draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Additionally, Medical Assistant may perform administrative duties such as ordering supplies, answering the phone, and scheduling appointments. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RCA) certification. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Medical Assistant works under moderate supervision.     Responsibilities :

    1. Assist in patient care tasks, such as monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility, and administering prescribed medication under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional.

    2. Prepare and maintain patient records, ensuring the accuracy and confidentiality of all information.

    3. Assist in the planning and implementation of individualized patient treatment plans under the guidance of a therapist or physician.

    4. Provide emotional support to patients and their families, helping them understand the rehabilitation process and cope with their health conditions.

    5. Coordinate patient appointments, tests, and procedures, ensuring seamless communication among all healthcare providers.

    7. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay updated on the latest rehabilitation techniques and healthcare regulations.

    8. Assist with patient transportation and positioning, respecting patient comfort and safety.

    9. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising physician or rehabilitation manager.

    Qualifications :

    1. High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program is preferred.

    2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathize with and provide support to patients.

    3. Basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures, with a particular focus on rehabilitation techniques.

    4. Comfortable with using electronic medical record systems and other computer-based technologies.

    5. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

    6. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    7. Physical ability to assist with patient mobility and perform other physical tasks as needed.

    8. BLS / CPR certification preferred but will provide upon employment if needed v
