Medical Assistant assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients' medical records. Being a Medical Assistant prepares treatment rooms for the examination of patients. May draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis. Additionally, Medical Assistant may perform administrative duties such as ordering supplies, answering the phone, and scheduling appointments. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RCA) certification. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Medical Assistant works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Medical Assistant typically requires 1-3 years of related experience. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

Responsibilities:
A Day in the Life of a/an Medical Assistant:
As a Medical Assistant), you will be responsible for providing excellent patient care while abiding by all HIPAA laws and regulations in an outpatient clinic setting. Your role is instrumental in the assessment process for the clinic visit which includes obtaining vitals, reconciliation of medication, rooming patients, documentation in patient charts (EHR), calling in prescriptions to the pharmacy, completing follow-up phone calls to patients, clinical and clerical duties, injections, assisting the provider during the patient's visit, and any other duties as assigned by the supervisor. This client is looking for a dynamic and positive team member to add to their office. This position is in the heart of Chesapeake, VA!
Requirements for the Medical Assistant:- Required: Must have clinical medical office setting experience. Preferred a Certified MA or Registered MA, but NOT REQUIRED. If not registered or certified must at least have a strong work experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Required: Must have at least 1-year experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Required: Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
- Required: Ability to pass Background Check and Drug Screen
- Required: Must be reliable and a quick learner and have the ability to multi-task with accuracy in a very busy environment.
- Required: Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- $16 Plus (Based on your experience)
