Medical Billing Clerk is responsible for reviewing, researching, coding, and generating third party billing for a medical facility. Completes and verifies ICD-10 coding. Being a Medical Billing Clerk inputs and maintains all payment records in database or systems. Performs basic customer service for routine patient or other inquiries. Additionally, Medical Billing Clerk requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Billing Clerk works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. OBJECTIVE:
The Payment Poster is responsible for posting insurance and patient payments to the practice management system. The ideal candidate will have basic medical insurance knowledge.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Knowledge of third-party payors, deductible, and copay benefits
- Attention to detail with the ability to identify/resolve problems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
- Be organized and detailed in work performance
- Computer Savvy
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Post insurance payments and Identify any payments not being paid at the allowed/contracted rate.
- Post patient payments to patient accounts.
- Ensure payment batches are reconciled and posted in a timely and accurate manner.
- Answer incoming patient calls and assist patients with account inquiries.
- Other miscellaneous tasks delegated by the Billing Supervisor
Schedule:- Monday through Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
Location: Ridgefield
Requirements- Proficiency in the use of Electronic Health Records and Practice Management Experience
Education- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
