Legal Billing Specialist Responsibilities
· Issue prebills to billing attorneys for initial review on a monthly basis
· Amend invoices with guidance from billing attorneys and finalize for distribution
· Work with the clients’ accounting departments to resolve any billing inquiries
· Run accounts receivable reports to keep track of past due accounts and follow up on payments
· Apply incoming payments to the correct accounts and keep accurate financial records
Legal Billing Specialist Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent is required; some college is desirable
· Two years of experience working as in a billing specialist position at a law firm
· Advanced computer proficiency, especially with MS Office, Excel, and billing software programs
· Ability to handle multiple projects at a time and consistently meet deadlines
· Strong written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills are required
