Duties:
We are seeking a dependable, professional individual to fill the position of part time Billing Specialist (3 hours per day). The Billing Specialist will assist the Practice Manager with generating and submitting invoices and with the following duties:
- Review and verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
- Utilize medical collection techniques to resolve outstanding accounts
- Process payments from insurance companies and patients
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines and relevant regulations
- Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients regarding billing issues
Experience:
- Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG coding systems
- Experience in medical billing and collections
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
