Medical Billing and collections

The medical billing representative performs a variety of tasks including answering phones, insurance verification, sending statements, appeals, and follow up on past due accounts.

Job Qualifications:

• least 1-2 year's experience in a medical office setting.
• Knowledge of Medical Insurance: 1 year (preferred)
• Good organizational skills and an orientation to detail is required.
• Must be comfortable with repetitive tasks including sending statements out daily.

Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to problem-solve in a timely professional manner.
• Ability to withstand varying job pressures, organize/prioritize related jobs tasks, and excellent attention to detail.
• Knowledge of networks, IPA's, HMO's, PPO's

Job Duties:

• Receives and resolves patient/Insurance calls concerning billing questions.
• Perform timely follow-up through direct phone calls, provider claims websites, correspondence, appeals, etc.
• When working an account-by-account basis, determines if payer needs additional information.
• Identify patterns, trends, and root-causes in collection workflow.
• Processing of mail.

This is a full-time position with a required commitment of 40 hours per week. This position is considered “at-will” and should not be considered a contracted or guaranteed position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
