Medical Billing Specialist jobs in Tucson, AZ

Tucson ENT is seeking a candidate who would like long-term employment with a very reputable ENT private practice. The candidate should enjoy working in an in-office group setting M-F 8-5.

The Medical Billing Specialist reviews and verifies pending claims with insurance companies, reviews medical EOBs, and insurance denials. The MBS ensures medical record accuracy for proper claim reimbursement, along with processing changes in the Practice Management system to support accurate and efficient billing processes and financial closing. The MBS will have an expectation to appeal to the insurance for reimbursement on behalf of the provider if needed.

The qualified candidate should have the skills to complete a variety of job duties related to the medical billing process and claims follow up such as (but not limited to):

• The ability to read and interpret claims rejections, and insurance denials
• The ability to read and interpret insurance Explanation of Benefits
• Draft and submit paper/electronic claim reconsiderations or appeals
• Submit initial claims and corrected claims in a timely manner
• Knowledge of insurances- HMO, Medicare Advantage Plans, Medicare & Medicaid Plans
• The ability to effectively communicate with patients, insurance companies, physicians, and management
• Advanced knowledge of General Math Skills
• Time management skills are a must to complete a considerable amount of work

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
