Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately billing and coding medical claims, ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies. Your expertise in medical billing systems and knowledge of medical terminology will be essential in this role. Duties: - Review and verify patient information, medical records, and insurance details - Accurately assign ICD-9 or ICD-10 codes to diagnoses and procedures - Prepare and submit electronic or paper claims to insurance companies - Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, resolving any billing discrepancies - Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers regarding claim status and payment issues - Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations - Update patient accounts with relevant billing information - Assist with the collection of outstanding balances from patients Skills: - Proficiency in medical billing systems and software - Strong knowledge of medical coding principles and guidelines - Familiarity with ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems - Understanding of medical terminology and procedures - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Effective communication skills for interacting with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Medical Billing is preferred - Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly desirable Join our team as a Medical Biller and contribute to the efficient operation of our healthcare facility.
