Medical Billing Supervisor jobs in Abilene, TX

Position Summary:

The Medical Billing and Coding Specialist position needs to have a broad knowledge of healthcare insurance billing including CPT and ICD10 codes, preparing and submitting clean claims to insurance companies, posting both patient and insurance payments, recognizing correct insurance adjustments, following-up on insurance claim denials and appeals, and acquiring insurance authorizations. This position requires the ability to work independently, accomplish goals, excellent customer service and communication skills, creativity, patience, and flexibility.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum Work Experience:

• 2 years previous work experience as a medical billing clerk

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

• Knowledge of medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement policies
• Skill in planning, organization and problem solving
• Knowledge of EOBs, modifiers, ICD-10 codes, HCFAs, and authorizations/referrals

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read, interpret and apply policies and procedures
• Must have full understanding of insurance follow-up processes (i.e. billing collections, managed care, Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial practices), and well as interpersonal skills
• Reliable attendance record
• Ability to interact with patients, medical and administrative staff, and the public effectively

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
