Medical Billing Supervisor oversees the preparation of medical bills and invoices, the calculation of provider charges, and verification of patient insurance. Maintains insurance documents and contracts. Being a Medical Billing Supervisor oversees the submission of claim reports and filing procedures. Ensures billing operations are performed in an accurate and timely manner. Additionally, Medical Billing Supervisor evaluates billing processes and procedures and assists management in developing revisions. Monitors the revenue cycle activities and resolves any issues. Needs to be familiar with ICD-10, CPT, and/or HCPCS Coding Systems as well as claim forms such as CMS-1500 and UB-04. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Medical Billing Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. Billing Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for the timely submission of professional medical claims to insurance companies, posting of payments made by payers and patients, and timely follow up on unpaid and/or unaddressed claims. The Billing Specialist will report directly to the Director of Revenue Cycle. "Hybrid work opportunity, allowing for a mixture of on-site and remote."
· At least 2 years' experience in claims processing, insurance verification & posting payments
· Ability to handle all phone calls in a professional, service-oriented manner
· Thorough understanding of the revenue cycle process, preference given to those with experience with behavioral health care billing.
· Excellent communication skills - listening, verbal and written
· Ability to manage change in an optimistic manner
· Ability to ask questions when help is needed and offer suggestions to complete work effectively and efficiently
· Ability for critical thinking when issues or concerns are raised
· Ability to manage multiple tasks and re-prioritize tasks
· Proficient in computer skills, i.e., EMR, Billing Clearinghouse Systems, Microsoft
· Word, Excel
