Description:
The selected applicant will be responsible for management of staff within patient financial services. Primary responsibilities include ensuring staff provide great customer service, follow-up on claims processing and resolution of patient receivables. Will also monitor cash and adjustment postings, refunds, bad debt accounts, maintain regulatory logs for governmental payers and will resolve account questions / issues with collection agency and/or attorney. Ensures PFS staff are up to date on requirements, regulations, educations, and policy/procedures. Assist staff with workload when necessary. Coordinates PTO request and is the contact for unexpected absences. Also responsible for developing employee evaluations, reviewing with director and then delivering to employee. Assist director in establishing department goals, measuring those goals and developing action plans to ensure goals are met. Meets with employee and follows hospital disciplinary process when employees do not perform to standards after discussing with director.
Qualifications:
- Associates degree in business or healthcare management is highly desirable.
- At least (1) one year of experience in hospital or physician office highly desirable.
- Previous experience in supervision and/or management desirable.
- Ability to work independently following policy and standards of work.
- Able to maintain established productivity standards.
- Able to supervise others in a positive and supportive manner.
- Ability to ensure accuracy and efficiency of patient accounts and processing.
- Strong working knowledge of computers and Microsoft office products to include email, word, and excel.
- Ability to type 45 words per minute with accuracy.
Hours:
Exempt position; minimum of 40 hours; 5 days per week
