Apex Medical Center is currently seeking a Billing Collections Specialist to join our team in Las Vegas, NV 89106.

About the Role:

• We are a comprehensive medical center offering primary care, pain management, mental health and services at our ambulatory surgical center looking for a full-time medical biller/collector to add to our friendly team.

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare and submit claims to various medical insurance companies electronically and manually.
• Answer questions from clients and insurance companies.
• Identify and resolve client and insurance billing complaints.
• Prepare, review and send client statements.
• Reconcile and post payments.
• Contacting insurance companies and patients on daily basis
• Working Accounts Receivable and provide detailed report to management
• Follow up on delayed and denied claims.
• Analyze accounts receivable aging and claims adjustments.
• Billing of unpaid claims
• Organizing, researching and preparing appeals
• Correspondence and appeal denials done in a timely manner with pro-active follow-up on appeals in process
• Reduce delinquent accounts.
• Update demographics and send out statements.
• Research accounts thoroughly throughout collection processes.
• Handling collections on all unpaid accounts
• Work with patients to develop payment plans

Our Ideal Candidate:

Education and Experience

• Familiar with CPT/ICD-10 codes
• Pain management, Primary care, Urgent care experience preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Ability to read and comprehend explanation of benefits (EOBs).
• Must be well organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to interface with people using tact and diplomacy.
• Excellent phone etiquette and oral communication skills.
• Patience and ability to manage stress.
• Skilled in negotiation
