Job Summary:

We at Workfit Medical, LLC are a growing company that is looking for a full-time experienced Medical Billing Specialist/Collector. The candidate needs to be a high energy, hardworking individual that is able to multitask. Responsibilities and Duties:

Medical Billing Specialist/Collector for large multi-specialty physician group. Be able to reconcile a large volume of billing daily and have an ability to collect.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Prepares and submits clean claims to insurance companies, Government payers, or employers either electronically or on paper, as dictated by the payer.
• Responds to verbal and written questions from payers, patients, and staff
• Performs various collections activities to follow-up on non-adjudicated claims including contacting insurers and patients by phone
• Preparing written appeals with appropriate documentation
• Takes patient payments over the phone and documents details for credit card processing.
• Refers requests for settlement arrangements to appropriate Director for approval
• Performs daily outgoing payer activities in an effort to secure appropriate reimbursement
• As necessary, deciphers payment vouchers and reconciles accounts to bill secondary or patient balances and resolve contractual allowances appropriately
• Maintains working knowledge of payer and government-specific requirements, denials, etc.
• Perform the job with minimal supervision and guidance
• Be a team player with excellent interpersonal skills
• Able to meet deadlines by providing accurate information
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information as mandated by HIPAA guidelines
• High level of commitment to getting the job done
• Excellent organizational skills
• Self-motivated and have a professional attitude and appearance
• Experience working with different types of personalities
• Have a positive "can do" attitude
• Good verbal and written communication within the company as well as with contacts outside the company
• Certification, Experience and Education:
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must have 2-4 years verifiable experience in Billing and Collecting
• Experience with Microsoft Office Products (Excel and Word)
• Experience with Medent billing software preferred
• Good math skills
