Being a Medical Director ensures all clinical programs are in compliance with all applicable regulations. Researches and studies current medical publications and data on new treatments and practices to ensure high quality clinical service offerings. Additionally, Medical Director advises non medical management on clinical and patient related matters and policies. Requires a MD degree. Typically reports to top management. The Medical Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. To be a Medical Director typically requires 8+ years of managerial experience.     You'll be joining a full service, collaborative team.  In addition to joining our four full-time doctors, you will be supported by a team of technicians, and our practice manager. 

    Responsibilities 

    • Serve as a key medical communication liaison between the hospital and area leadership.
    • Partner with the Practice Manager to manage the hospital as role models and champions of United Veterinary Care’s brand to provide consistent high-quality care and unmatched client experience to the most pets and clients and to maximize efficiency, productivity, and profitability. 
    • Train the team on hospital guidelines and practices. Supervise and train the team to ensure compliance. 
    • Teach and coach on case management, exam room communication, annual reviews and excellent client service and monthly doctor meetings (refer to doctor meeting best practices document). 
    • Supports regular staff meetings and holds all staff accountable for knowing what has been discussed and how it impacts the health of the hospital. 
    • Sets the medical vision for the hospital, advocating and ensuring medical quality with optimum client experience.
    • Works supportively with the hospital (practice) manager in understanding administrative and personnel issues while building effective teams. 
    • Engages associate veterinarians by developing talent, creating collaborative relationships, and delivering consistent results. 
    • Makes sound judgments and utilizes UVC leadership when needed.  

    Requirements 

    • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree. 
    • Active, or ability to obtain, FL license in good standing to practice
