Medical Interpreter conducts medical and general interpreting for staff, patients, and their families. Assesses and monitors patients' understanding of information conveyed. Being a Medical Interpreter advises medical personnel about any cultural issues that might impact patient care. Records and monitors interpretation activities according to hospital and department standards. Additionally, Medical Interpreter may be required to translate written documents. Requires familiarity with medical terminology. Requires fluency in one or more languages in addition to English. May require an associate degree or equivalent. May require Translation certificate. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Interpreter works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. 1. Living near PennState Health Children's Hospital,car required.
Accompany Chinese patients to hospitals, including airport transfer.
2. Follow up the translation in the hospital according to the client's needs, meet their normal and reasonable daily needs, such as taking the clients to seek for medical treatment, making doctor appointments, managing refund, shopping and arranging accommodation, etc.
3. Effectively communicate and coordinate with the hospital according to the client's medical treatment.
4. In case of emergency, deal with it as soon as possible.
5. Stay in close touch with colleagues in China.
6. Chinese, and can chat by Wechat with our colleagues in China.
7. No full-time job or don't have to be there all the time .
