Medical Interpreter jobs in Modesto, CA
Medical Interpreter conducts medical and general interpreting for staff, patients, and their families. Assesses and monitors patients' understanding of information conveyed. Being a Medical Interpreter advises medical personnel about any cultural issues that might impact patient care. Records and monitors interpretation activities according to hospital and department standards. Additionally, Medical Interpreter may be required to translate written documents. Requires familiarity with medical terminology. Requires fluency in one or more languages in addition to English. May require an associate degree or equivalent. May require Translation certificate. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Interpreter works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Sierra Vista Child & Family Services is seeking an individual that can provide interpretation in the Farsi language. The Farsi interpreter provides oral interpretation services for our non-English and Limited English speaking clients, their families, and staff at our various programs. This is a pier diem position with variable hours (1 - 10 hours/week) that may include days, evenings and weekends. A commitment to provide exceptional customer experience, patient privacy & safety, and teamwork spirit is required for this position.
