Medical Laboratory Technician performs a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic medical lab tests as requested by healthcare staff according to established protocols and procedures. Prepares specimens for microscopic examination or testing procedures. Being a Medical Laboratory Technician operates automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Performs quality control and assurance procedures. Additionally, Medical Laboratory Technician records lab results in specified system. Follows all required privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards. Requires an associate degree in laboratory technology, science or equivalent. Requires valid certification as Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from ASCP or AMT. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Laboratory Technician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Timely maintain clear and accurate QC/QA records such as weighing sheet/reconciliation and test results
- Generate CofA, In Process Specification, Finished Good Specification: Physical test needs to be done and fill out the form based on test results from 3rd party lab.
· Operate/calibrate laboratory equipment and instruments, such as mixers, viscometers, pH meters, and homogenizers, etc.
· Send the test samples from raw materials, in process product and finished products for Microbial Test, Identity Test, Potency analytical test and follow up with 3rd party testing lab for timely receipt and test completion of such sample.
· Pull out annual retaining OTC samples and to-be-retested-RMs to be sent out to third party testing laboratories and follow up accordingly for test results.
· Monitor entire aspects of manufacturing/Packaging area via safety walk which include, but not limited to: Housekeeping, Personnel and Hygienic Practices, Pest Control, Calibration and Scale Verification, Logbooks, Signs, and Labels.
· Perform line clearance prior to manufacturing/pre-weighing and prior to packaging,
-check BOM’s of Batch Records and/or packaging records and review BMR and BPR.
-Perform inspection of incoming raw material, components, labels, etc and execute sampling, quarantining, releasing, holding, rejecting according to SOP.
· Other duties may be assigned as needed
