Key Responsibilities:
1. Specimen Preparation:
- Receive, label, and organize patient samples for analysis.
- Prepare specimens for testing according to established protocols.
2. Laboratory Procedures:
- Perform a variety of routine and specialized laboratory tests using automated equipment and manual techniques.
- Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain a high level of accuracy in sample processing.
3. Instrument Operation:
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance to ensure proper functionality.
4. Testing and Analysis:
- Execute laboratory tests, including but not limited to hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, and immunology.
- Analyze test results and ensure accuracy before reporting.
5. Data Input and Reporting:
- Input and validate test results in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
- Generate accurate and timely reports for review by authorized personnel.
6. Quality Assurance:
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure the reliability of test results.
- Identify and report any deviations from established protocols.
7. Compliance:
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Stay informed about industry developments and ensure compliance with relevant guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) preferred.
- Previous experience in a clinical laboratory setting is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
