Follows all required privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards. Requires an associate degree in laboratory technology, science or equivalent. Requires valid certification as Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from ASCP or AMT. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Laboratory Technician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. General Description:
The Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing Laboratory specimen testing, analysis and reporting. S/he prepares specimens, calibrates and maintains instruments, and assists in all areas of the Lab, as needed.
