Medical Laboratory Technician performs a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic medical lab tests as requested by healthcare staff according to established protocols and procedures. Prepares specimens for microscopic examination or testing procedures. Being a Medical Laboratory Technician operates automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Performs quality control and assurance procedures. Additionally, Medical Laboratory Technician records lab results in specified system. Follows all required privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards. Requires an associate degree in laboratory technology, science or equivalent. Requires valid certification as Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from ASCP or AMT. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Laboratory Technician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Excellent opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to join our team in Athens, TX!Support and conduct procedures concerning aspects of biological testing on manufacturing products and the manufacturing environment. Responsible for laboratory maintenance, sample integrity, test method development, and media preparation.
What you will do::- Log test samples into lab operation and prepare samples for testing.
- Archive reports
- Maintain Lab Equipment for compliance
- Perform test methods
- Write and review and update local procedures as required
- Validate and Maintain lab methods
- Prepare and stage samples for testing.
- Investigate excursion and initiate non-conformance as needed.
- Generate/review lab reports for compliance
- Place orders for new equipment, process agents and services.
- 2-year degree in Biological Science or equivalent
- Microbiology or Chemistry lab experience from degree program.
- Able to work on clean work in environments and understand aseptic techniques upon testing and sampling
- Must be proficient with Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Database, Power Point, etc.)
