The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)/Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is responsible for the performance, evaluation and correlation of test procedures and assists in the selection and evaluation of test methods. The MLS/MLT participates in the education and professional development of laboratory personnel, new employees and students and may participate in the performance of routine administrative and non-routine technical functions.

Schedule
- 40 hours/week
- Nights
- The Laboratory is staffed seven days a week, twenty-four hours per day
- Personnel may be assigned to work mostly one shift or may have a rotational schedule consisting of duty on day, evening and night shifts. Both options may include weekends
- Rotational coverage of holidays
- Expected to work overtime and/or additional weekends in times of staffing shortages, emergencies and unexpected increases in workload
- Expected to respond in the event of a disaster
Requirements
- 2 year Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT)
- or 4 year Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)
- or meets one of the eligibility requirements as listed with ASCP for certification as an MLT or MLS Entry Level
