SUMMARY
As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you play a key role in accurately performing routine Laboratory analyses under the supervision of Medical Technologist or Laboratory Leaders.

STATUS: Full Time

LOCATION: United Memorial Medical Center- Batavia, NY

DEPARTMENT: Labs

SCHEDULE: Day | 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM; alternating weekends and holidays

ATTRIBUTES

• AAS/Medical Laboratory Technician or AAS in a related Science and/or equivalent relevant experience as recognized by New York State Department of Education for certification as a Clinical Laboratory Technician. .
• New York State Department of Education License as a Clinical Laboratory Technician required
• Certification by ASCP preferred, but not required

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analysis. Performs routine clinical laboratory testing accurately under the direction of the on-site manager and as observed by the lead or senior technologist or designee.
• Maintenance. May perform basic preventive maintenance, set-up and troubleshooting of equipment and instrumentation when required
• Quality Control. Performs all required quality assurance and quality control activities for manual and automated methods.
• Communication. Communicating stat and critical lab results and prolonged instrument malfunctions causing delays in test results to physicians, nursing units and other appropriate medical personnel

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

• CLT - Clinical Laboratory Technologist - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PAY RANGE: $27.25 - $34.25
