Medical Laboratory Technician performs a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic medical lab tests as requested by healthcare staff according to established protocols and procedures. Prepares specimens for microscopic examination or testing procedures. Being a Medical Laboratory Technician operates automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Performs quality control and assurance procedures. Additionally, Medical Laboratory Technician records lab results in specified system. Follows all required privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards. Requires an associate degree in laboratory technology, science or equivalent. Requires valid certification as Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from ASCP or AMT. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Exhibits Technician I is an entry level position assisting the exhibits team in creating new exhibits and maintaining existing exhibits. This position could include graphic design, illustration, project coordination, exhibit repairs, sign installation (rigid and vinyl signs), new exhibit installations, gardening, and other duties as assigned under the supervision of the Exhibits Manager and in collaboration with other Exhibits staff. Applicants passionate about guest experience and excited to join the exhibit design and fabrication field are encouraged to apply.
All work performed by the Exhibits Technician I will demonstrate a high level of professionalism and attention to detail. The Exhibits Technician I often works on multiple projects concurrently and is responsible for documenting and communicating progress towards goals effectively with stakeholders in multiple departments.

Normal hours are 7:30am to 4:30pm Sunday-Thursday with a one hour unpaid break for lunch.. Weekend, holiday and occasional evening duty will be required. Mote Aquarium is open to the public 365 days a year from 9:30am-5pm. Travel will occasionally be required for offsite exhibit installation and maintenance.
