Medical Laboratory Technician performs a variety of routine and specialized diagnostic medical lab tests as requested by healthcare staff according to established protocols and procedures. Prepares specimens for microscopic examination or testing procedures. Being a Medical Laboratory Technician operates automated laboratory instrumentation and equipment. Performs quality control and assurance procedures. Additionally, Medical Laboratory Technician records lab results in specified system. Follows all required privacy, safety, and biohazard procedures and standards. Requires an associate degree in laboratory technology, science or equivalent. Requires valid certification as Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from ASCP or AMT. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Laboratory Technician works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. SUMMARY

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician who will be responsible for performing a variety of high complexity molecular laboratory techniques, such as DNA/RNA extraction, QPCR, and data analysis. In this role, the Molecular Laboratory Technician will be handling sensitive equipment to analyze specimens, conduct tests, and report findings to the laboratory manager.
An ideal candidate will be comfortable working with possibly hazardous pathogens or chemicals and is confident in their ability to follow safety guidelines in the workplace. Persons who have experience with clinical toxicology, genetics/NGS, DNA extraction, CGX/PGX, and/or QPCR would be at a marked advantage in this role.
An individual with experience in the Technical Laboratory field who would describe themselves as flexible with dynamic priorities and passionate about patient care will flourish here.
