The Nursing Director of Medical Surgical will provide leadership and support the Chief Nursing Office (CNO) in the clinical and administrative operations of this hospital’s largest and most diverse nursing service line. Supported by two CMSRN Acute Care Nurse Managers, and a tenured team of Med/Surg Supervisors and Charge Nurses, this leadership collective will manage over 120 employees. 

The Nursing Director Med Surg will lead a team of multiple nursing professionals, and will be responsible for assisting in assessing, planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing practice. These units serve as comprehensive care hubs for a diverse patient population, handling various medical and surgical cases. The RN Director MedSurg will play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient operations, high quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, fostering high employee engagement, and maintaining positive patient experience scores

The RN Director of Medical Surgical must be a proven strong, confident leader with highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, critical thinking skills, robust hospital operational ability, and the ability to serve as a role model and advocate for the professional discipline of nursing. The Nursing Director of Med Surg will ideally have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and have prior leadership experience in Acute Care.
