Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and injections as directed by healthcare providers
- Take and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and stocked with necessary supplies
- Perform basic laboratory tests, such as urine tests and blood draws
- Assist with patient education and provide instructions for at-home care
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow in the clinic - Perform a variety of administrative functions including but not limited to: patient follow-up calls, screening and follow-up with patient test results, phone triag - Follow office policies and safety rules
Experience:
- Previous experience working as a medical assistant or in a similar healthcare role is preferred
- Familiarity with medication administration techniques
- Ability to perform basic life support procedures, such as CPR, if necessary
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a medical assistant training program is preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and other staff members
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems
