Medical Management Manager manages the organization's medical management programs, which may include case management, utilization review, quality management, or community health education programs with the goal of providing high quality, cost effective health care services. Collects and analyzes data on utilization, outcomes, safety, and costs to determine trends and identify problem areas. Being a Medical Management Manager presents findings, proposed solutions, and implementation plans to management. Implements long and short term solutions for improvements in patient care and cost savings. Additionally, Medical Management Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Medical Management Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Medical Management Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Job Summary

    The Medical Assistant is responsible for obtaining patient records and test results, preparing treatment rooms for examinations and assists our practitioners during medical procedures.  

    Essential Functions:

    • Room patients and updating patient information into EMR system
    • Transcribe for providers during exams
    • Assist with biopsies and select surgical procedures
    • Educate patients on treatment plans
    • Assist with cosmetic procedures
    • Complete prior authorizations for prescriptions, biologics, and procedures 
    • Stock rooms with necessary supplies
    • Report biopsy, culture and/or lab results to patients via phone if directed by provider
    • Sanitize all work areas throughout the day and after each patient
    • Send patient visit notes to referring provider/PCP
    • Answer incoming calls when not in a room with a provider 
    • Assist office staff with front end tasks if needed
    • Other duties as assigned  

    Requirements

    Education, Skills, and Experience:

    • High School Diploma required 
    • Must have certification from a Medical Assistant Program 
    • 1-3 years of relevant medical / surgical practice experience 
    • Professional attitude and appearance
    • Solid written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
    • Customer service attitude
    • Experience with practice management software (ie EMA) and Microsoft Office Word and Excel

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
    • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at times.
