Seeking a certified or experienced Medical Assistant that is able to work in our fast-paced outpatient ambulatory surgical center located in Monterey Park, CA. The ideal candidate will be professional and provide exceptional patient care, and responsible for identification, correct disassembly, cleaning, decontamination and reassembly of instruments used in GI procedures
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform instrument processing functions according to Certified Surgical Technologist/Society of Gastroenterology of Nurses & Associates as well as Standard Operating Procedures.
Must be able to stand for an extended period, retracting, and assisting in the transfer of patients with appropriate number of personnel and/or devices.
Prepare supplies, instrumentation and equipment in advance of the surgical schedule.
Properly document missing instruments or supplies or malfunction of equipment to RN or Management.
Ensure completion of all necessary paperwork and computer functions, as appropriate for daily work.
Knowledge of disinfectors and other related equipment required.
Maintain integrity of procedural field, cleans the procedure room with appropriate disinfecting agents after procedures.
Have good manual dexterity and detail-orientation.
Ability to multi-task, and work effectively under pressure and within deadlines and be reliable.
Willing and capable of working with others efficiently.
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and patients as appropriate.
Ability to read and understand applicable Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures
Must have or be willing to obtain necessary vaccines and testing required to work with soiled items.
