Medical Policy Manager manages and implements corporate policy and process for medical provider and other reimbursements. Ensures that all claims are reviewed, settled, and processed in compliance with and according to contract provisions and regulatory requirements. Being a Medical Policy Manager evaluates and develops policies and provider reimbursement guidelines to effectively manage and control medical claims cost. Requires a bachelor's degree of finance, business or healthcare administration. Additionally, Medical Policy Manager typically reports to head of a unit/department. The Medical Policy Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Medical Policy Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) administers federal and state funds through programs designed to advance the development of energy efficient and affordable housing for working families, drive Louisiana housing policy, and oversee the state's Disaster Housing Task Force.

    Our Policy & Reporting team is growing and we're currently looking to hire a Policy Planner. We are seeking a motivated, hardworking individual who has a passion for serving the residents of Louisiana. As a key member of the Louisiana Housing Corporation (LHC) team, you will assist in the development, establishment, implementation, coordination, and monitoring of policy, strategic planning and support of legislative activities.

    What You'll Be Doing

    • Performs responsible professional and administrative work in researching, identifying, developing, and responding to public and private grant opportunities related, not limited to affordable housing and services.
    • Writes annual submissions to housing journals to engage and educate the public on the corporation's investments and best practices in the affordable housing industry.
    • Measures and reports on the impact of the Corporation's affordable housing investments and services.
    • Conducts market research and data collection.
    • Interprets data, formulates reports, and makes recommendations based upon research findings.
    • Encompasses the ability to transform data into information to support the leadership team in creating effective policy and business decisions.

    What You Will Bring

    • Master's degree or a Baccalaureate degree plus one year of professional experience in policy planning
    • Minimum 6 years of professional experience.
    • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Detail-oriented with strong verbal/written communications skills.
    • Ability to manage projects, assignments, and competing priorities.
    • Aptitude for understanding and explaining programmatic topics.
