Medical Policy Manager jobs in Houston, TX

Medical Policy Manager manages and implements corporate policy and process for medical provider and other reimbursements. Ensures that all claims are reviewed, settled, and processed in compliance with and according to contract provisions and regulatory requirements. Being a Medical Policy Manager evaluates and develops policies and provider reimbursement guidelines to effectively manage and control medical claims cost. Requires a bachelor's degree of finance, business or healthcare administration. Additionally, Medical Policy Manager typically reports to head of a unit/department. The Medical Policy Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Medical Policy Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Responsibilities:


    Community Engagement & Community Benefits:

    • Develop and implement community engagement strategies that foster positive relationships with local communities, indigenous groups, and stakeholders. 
    • Be the principal ambassador for the company, responsible for sharing its vision with the local community.
    • Organize community outreach programs and coordinate special events that promote products, services, and ideas of the company.
    • Attend relevant events and activities to represent the company and build strong relationships with key community members.
    • Work collaboratively with local communities and their leaders to design and implement solutions to improve the quality of life for those persons who live in these communities.


    Energy:

    • Work with the HARC Team and external partners to develop energy and community resilience strategies to implement in underserved communities.
    • Coordinate with workforce organizations and community organizations to place disadvantaged workers in the resulting jobs.
    • Track policy and regulatory proceedings at the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Texas Public Utility Commission and the Texas Railroad Commission. Support and advance HARC’s mission at the entities.


    Governmental Relations:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with local, regional, and national government officials, agencies, and regulators. 
    • Identify and engage with key stakeholders including environmental organizations, NGOs, industry associations, and research institutions. 
    • Work collaboratively to address concerns, gather input, and incorporate feedback into company policies and practices.

     

    Strategic Communications:

    In coordination with HARC’s Communication Director, undertake the following activities:

    • Prepare press releases, articles, speeches, and other communication materials to effectively convey the company's mission and values. 
    • Develop and execute communication plans to enhance the HARC’s reputation and promote its commitment to sustainability and responsible resource extraction.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to coordinate responses and ensure timely and accurate communication. 


    Requirements and skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Public Affairs, Government Relations, Communications, Political science, Public administration, Compliance, or related fields. 
    • Project management experience and expertise.
    • Knowledge and awareness of energy and environmental programs and policies.
    • Prior legislative advocacy expertise and experience. 
    • At least two years of experience in energy, environmental, community relations or related fields
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to work well under pressure and manage sensitive or controversial subjects with tact, kindness, and professionalism.
    • A demonstrated ability to work independently, make strategic decisions, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
    • Knowledge of sustainable development practices, environmental conservation, and corporate social responsibility principles.
