Medical Records Coding Technician jobs in Bakersfield, CA

Under the direction of the Senior Vice President of Operations, this position is responsible to directly oversee and lead the HCC/Coding department to ensure maximum performance in billing and coding related activities. The manager of HCC/Coding will interact with other departments, clinic personnel, and outside providers in a professional and friendly manner, to create and maintain a positive relationship with our internal and external customers.

• Direct day to day operations of the HCC Department
• Train and guide HCC department staff, and present updates to HCC program as they become available.
• Develop skills of employees for growth and cross training.
• Coordinate with the Senior Vice president of Operations on outcomes within the provider community on reaching BFMC/CCPN's RAF s score goals.
• Oversee and conduct training of IPA and Staff Model provider regarding HCC documentation.
• Prepare and analyze monthly reporting of key metrics and deliverables.
• Attend HPN corporate meetings as needed to communicate/implement BFMC/CCPN's best practices.
• Coordinate with Quality Management Department to assist within the IPA community for the communication of CMS 5 Star program details and results.
• Coordinate with Provider Relations Department on IPA community movements, and deliver feedback received from IPA providers.
• Project BFMC/CCPN/HPN's mission and culture in daily activities within clinic and IPA community.
• Develop and strengthen ties of IPA providers with BFMC/CCPN through personal outreach.
• Coordinate with corporate office on all Health Plan requests for medical records to complete RADV audits.
• Coordinate best practices and open communication within the HPN organization on HCC programs with sister companies.

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 5 years management background (in health care preferred) with strong communication skills including presentation skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• CPC Certification preferred
• 3 years of billing/coding experience
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Strong communication skills both written and oral
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $39.12 and $46.03 however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
