Eastwick College is seeking a Health Information Technology (HIT) Adjunct Instructor responsible for teaching course(s) in accordance with curriculum requirements in CPT and ICD 11.

An Adjunct Instructor is contracted to teach and facilitate a meaningful learning experience of the course competencies in the curriculum, proactively supporting all facets of Eastwick's mission.

EXPECTATIONS

• Prepare for teaching by creating weekly lesson plans that are driven by the course and program objectives. Additionally, providing a classroom that includes a balance of teacher and student-centered instructional strategies as well as assessments (formative and/or summative)
• Prepare for class starts by organizing student material (including updating appropriate due dates) and texts in the classroom.
• Follow approved lesson/unit plans provided by the College
• Organize and present subject matter in a meaningful way to students
• Prepare all lecture materials following provided lesson/unit plans in advance of class presentation
• Teach assigned course(s)
• Follow approved curriculum/course outline with relevant and meaningful instructional supplements which further enhance the learning experience for students
• Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning
• Communicate regularly with students to address academic and attendance concerns and to provide constructive feedback related to assignments and course objectives in a timely manner
• Evaluate student progress
• Advise students on progress at mid-term and term end with documentation.
• Tutor students as needed
• Keep accurate and timely records
• Maintain student records and grades
• Post records through student management system (i.e Canvas)

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• Master’s Degree from nationally or regionally accredited institution, in discipline of course
• Healthcare Administration - MHA preferred
• Three years relevant professional experience required
• Experience with Canvas LMS preferred
• Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others.
• Must be able to read and follow lesson plans or guides, present educational information to participants in a clear fashion, address questions or concerns and utilize effective training/instructional methods to reinforce learning.
