Medical Records Manager manages medical record-keeping operations and healthcare information management to ensure secure, accurate, and reliable patient information management that complies with data and privacy regulations. Follows established policies and procedures to ensure effective and compliant record management, makes suggestions for process improvements. Being a Medical Records Manager implements digital technologies and tools to gain efficiencies, facilitate record retrieval, and ensure secure storage. Provides training for medical records staff and information resources to end-users. Additionally, Medical Records Manager coordinates with clinical and technical professionals to maintain robust records management systems and manage data for analysis and reporting. May require a bachelor's degree. May require Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification. Typically reports to a director. The Medical Records Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Medical Records Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     AMP is a Management Service Organization (MSO) that provides administrative and clinical support staff for ColumbiaDoctors. ColumbiaDoctors is one of the largest multi-specialty practices in New York State, comprised of an experienced group of physicians specializing in Cardiology, Vascular Disease, Internal Medicine, Obesity, Podiatry, Gastroenterology, and Endocrinology. We are a large group with over 50 Columbia Providers and offices in Westchester, Rockland, and Orange Counties.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Motivated & Enthusiastic Individual with Superb Organization Skills & Attention to Detail
    • Excellent communication skills utilizing professional phone etiquette is a MUST
    • Strong Written & Verbal Communication Skills
    • Assist front end staff in the day to day operations of a high volume practice
    • Verify patient data and documentation is accurately collected, scanned and processed into Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
    • Complies with requests for medical records from outside sources, ie physicians, attorneys and insurance companies. Follow up on information requests to ensure medical records are properly provided in a timely fashion
    • Meet and greet patients, visitors and assist patient call center
    • Additional duties as assigned
    • Adhere to HIPAA Compliance & Safety Measures, Securing Patient Information & Confidentiality at all times
    • EPIC knowledge is a plus

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

    Experience:

    • Medical Records: 1 year (Required)
    • Electronic Medical Records - EMR: 1 year (Preferred)
    • EPIC: 1 year (Preferred)
    • Healthcare: 2 years (Preferred)
