Medical Records Manager manages medical record-keeping operations and healthcare information management to ensure secure, accurate, and reliable patient information management that complies with data and privacy regulations. Follows established policies and procedures to ensure effective and compliant record management, makes suggestions for process improvements. Being a Medical Records Manager implements digital technologies and tools to gain efficiencies, facilitate record retrieval, and ensure secure storage. Provides training for medical records staff and information resources to end-users. Additionally, Medical Records Manager coordinates with clinical and technical professionals to maintain robust records management systems and manage data for analysis and reporting. May require a bachelor's degree. May require Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certification. Typically reports to a director. The Medical Records Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Medical Records Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Ideal Candidate Has:

    • Outstanding customer service with strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Is professional and caring when dealing with patients.
    • Able to withstand varying job pressures and organize/prioritize related job tasks.
    • Is punctual.
    • Can work efficiently with minimal supervision, exercising independent judgment within stated guidelines.
    • Education Requirement:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    Preference is Given For:

    • Prior medical field experience.
    • Centricity or comparable EMR experience.
    • Certified bilingual language.

    Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

    • Sort, scan, and import all incoming patient medical records into the EMR.
    • Review to ensure all forms are completed, properly identified, signed, and all necessary information is present before scanning.
    • Obtain patient records from outside sources for providers and staff as requested.
    • Release our records to other offices, lawyers, patients, and third parties following company policy.
    • Prepare for upcoming appointments by ensuring necessary records are present.
    • Skills and Abilities (including but not limited to):
    • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are required.
    • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills which promote cooperation and teamwork.
    • Ability to identify alternative means of communication as needed.
    • Ability to adapt to change.
    • Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
    • Ability to maneuver through several applications, including our electronic medical records, Microsoft Office applications, software, websites, and databases.
